Lusaka Travel Guide
Overview
Lusaka is Zambia’s fast-growing capital: energetic, spread out and increasingly cosmopolitan, with busy markets, contemporary galleries, restaurants and leafy residential districts sitting alongside government and commercial areas. Its character is less about ticking off dozens of monuments and more about experiencing modern Zambian city life, art, food and markets.
It is also unusually easy to combine city sightseeing with wildlife: a national park and elephant conservation centre sit on Lusaka’s outskirts. Two days is ideal—one for culture, markets and food, and another for wildlife and the city’s greener attractions. A single full day can still cover the highlights.
